"NIGHTMUSIC" is a collection of the most raw songs I've ever written. Even though "Leave Again" was only released 6 months prior, I had actually been sitting on those songs for almost a year after they were complete. During that time, and the break between releasing "Leave Again" and "NIGHTMUSIC", I was experimenting with my sound and the kind of musician I wanted to be. This album was the first time I didn't slap together everything I had, release it, and edit later.

One of the biggest things I wanted to try my hand at was using more than a piano. There were months where everything I made was just trashed. It was extremely frustrating but I wanted so badly to expand my sound and try new things. I finally hit the mark with My Space which I wrote and recorded in one sitting in my living room at home. I was so close to giving up, and this song helped shape the entire album.

I wrote over 20 songs for this album, recorded about 15 in full, and ended up putting 10 on the album. The stories on this album are personal, raw, and some of the hardest songs I've ever let myself write. This is the first album I felt fully proud of from start to finish. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
