Helios is a love letter to Spring and the sun. I wrote it in the backseat of my friend's car on the way to Hudson, WI. The sun was shining, the snow was melting, and I felt like I was nearing the end of one of the hardest times of my life.

When I re-recorded this song, I wanted to give it (pun mildly intended) a sunnier, warmer, more hopeful sound. This went from being a song I often overlooked on the album because I never felt like it lived up to wanted I wanted it to sound like, to one of my favorites because it truly lives up to the vibe I'd always hoped for it to have.
